TELSTAR Mechanical-to-Servo Retrofits

The fastest, most effective way to maximize the performance of your existing press equipment.

Servo controls and automation systems have become a normal, everyday feature of production equipment in virtually all sectors or manufacturing. Label printing and converting are no exceptions. Yet many operations often overlook the possibilities this technology offers for their veteran and newer presses that still run mechanically and require constant supervision by a skilled operator. Digital Press Management by Telstar provides solutions to using their skills and talents for more important work while opening new possibilities for your press performance.

Adding Telstar’s Servo Conversion System to the print or die station of a mechanically driven press provides re-register capability to the converted station. This allows for pre-printed webs to be decorated, die-cut, or sheeted on a “veteran” press.  Telstar’s Cad-To-Go Onsite Pre-Engineering provides minimal production downtime for installation. Retrofit Mechanical-to-Servo and be “First at the Finish” with new converting capabilities. Keep pace with the competition by offering Digital Finishing Plus Register / Re-Register and fresh product creations.

A Rotary Die Station on this Mark Andy 2200 press was converted to Servo Drive providing Auto and Re-Register Capability of digitally printed webs.

SHIPPING NEWS:

UNWIND - REWIND COMBINATION UNIT

This Unwind – Rewind Combo for cold foiling will be bridge mounted over any two stations of a Mark Andy 2200 press.  Full width rolls can be supplied from the primary unwind which features built-in lateral adjustment.  A primary job requires two narrow lanes of different colored foil which will be supplied by the narrow lane unwind discs.  The foil lane passes between the print station following the turn-bar web path so no flexo colors are sacrificed.  The rewind is independently driven to take-up the waste foil.

SINGLE PLOW FOLD UNIT

The web travels up between print stations, edges are trimmed to width, folded, then back down parallel to the incoming web so that no print stations are sacrificed.  The edge trim is transported across the top to the matrix winder.
